چکیده
Epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML) of the kidney is an uncommon neoplasm with malignant potential. It can occur sporadically or be associated tuberous sclerosis. EAML a monotypic variant (AML), which classified as perivascular epithelioid cell tumor. Due to its nature and paucity fat components, unlike classic AML, has abundant adipose tissue characteristic features on CT scans, it difficult distinguish from renal carcinoma fat‑poor AML MRI preoperatively, may lead misdiagnosis unnecessary nephrectomy. The present report describes two cases EAML, were successfully treated by laparoscopic surgery. Preoperative diagnosis had not been achieved until surgery was performed histological analysis accomplished. No local recurrence distal metastasis observed during follow‑up. Although differential challenging should considered surgical excision preferred treatment strategy for patients localized tumors.

Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a type of tumor in the perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm (PEComa) family. Epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML), having malignant potential, is considered a rare variant of angiomyolipoma. The most common site of EAMLs is kidney, and extra-renal EAMLs are very uncommon, with liver being the most common site.1 Other locations including retroperitoneum, uterus, liver, lun...
